A lot of my blog posts point towards the grey area, the realm of possibility through a flexibility in how we think. This is not one of those posts.

I want to draw a clear line. Something that helps to demonstrate what I’m talking about. Commitment is one of those things. Pregnancy is one of those things. You’re either pregnant or you’re not. There’s no “kinda” being pregnant. You’re either committed or not. You get it?

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe says, “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.

Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. Begin it now.”

What a great quote providing tons of inspiration and insight! I offer that some deeper thoughts might be;

“Are you clear about who you are?”
“Do you know what you want?”
“Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get what you want?”
“Are you willing to embody the characteristics of the person you need be to in order to get what you want?”

Alignment of your priorities is an absolutely necessity so that you can commit to manifesting your vision. You will have to say to yourself that you’re going to get what you want “NO MATTER WHAT”!!!

My argument is that when the commitment is clear and in place, willpower is not as big of a requirement.
