We live in a society that has imprinted us with specific drives. One of those is to acquire and amass things. If the name of the game is to have more, which for most of us it is, consider experiencing what you have more fully and rather than to just have more.

Again this week I’m offering some perspective. Perspective on contentment, appreciation, fulfillment, and maybe some other things personal to you. As always, let me know.

So I ask you this, how are you experiencing what you already have?

Are you taking the time to fully relish what you have or are you rushing through it and missing precious moments that could be lived more fully?

If you want to really experience this to its fullest get a raisin or a craisin. Just one. That’s all you’ll need. No raisin, get a single coffee bean. No coffee bean, get a grain of rice. If you just want to take a few minutes and have this experience in your mind, by all means, enjoy.

Here’s what you’re going to do;

Take that raisin and hold it in your hand. Close your eyes and feel it. It’s texture, shape, and weight. Roll it around in your fingers. Is it sticky? Hard? Mushy? Do this for a minute or two.

Now smell it. Hold it up to your nose and see if it gives off an odor. What is that odor? Do this for another minute or so.

Are you ready to put that little dried up fruit in your mouth? Don’t chew it up yet but roll it around in your mouth and feel the shape and texture. The sweetness. Do this for another minute.

Now bite that thing. Chew on it. Enjoy the flavor and the explosion of sensations.

Thanks for your time. Have a great day!
