Are we still talking about covid? Are you caught up arguing about stuff instead of actually solving your problems?

Let’s not talk about success right now but rather just having some solid mental health. Don’t get me wrong I’m all about success and how we can thrive is key areas of life like creating a safe environment for ourselves, loved ones, family, and friends, actually enjoying pleasure, and appreciating challenges and uncertainty.

Mental health is very important to me. At times in life I’ve had good mental health and at other times I haven’t. Mental health issues are no joke and I believe are directly related to the training and conditioning of our past traumas.

Simply put, if any of us struggle or can’t solve our own problems we have mental health issues. We need help

I’m not saying ignore Covid. I’m saying that if after two years you don’t have a game plan of how to live well, create healthy interface with a group of people (community), and protect yourself and those you love then it’s time to figure it out

I was talking to someone the other day. They used to be a CIA analyst. We were taking data, COVID, timing, and predictions for how this pandemic is going to unfold. Based of his study of the data from previous pandemic he said that this will last five years total. It struck me… plenty of the time, I’m holding on and waiting for this to end rather than figuring out how to continue to adapt.

Happiness, success, or anything else that’s challenging that we want can be had if we embrace what we came to call the “Stockdale Paradox”: you must maintain unwavering faith that you can and will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties, and at the same time, have the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.

If you didn’t know this, I’m indigenous so I’ve been doing work around my relationship with the government and varies other institutional entities. Let’s just say the government is out to get you. We could assume that the government has always been out to get you so don’t get bogged down in the argument around that, figure out how to adapt and overcome, and move on.

See you in another three years.

The opportunity:

How are you helping others?

What do you need to do to move on? And maybe not just from this but from other things too?

What will you do to adapt if this pandemic lasted ten years?

What do you need to do to recognize that at a certain point the arguing isn’t helping?

Thanks for your time, have a great day.
