Responsibility as defined by Jim Mitchell, I am willing to think the thoughts, feel the feelings, make the hard choices, then take the actions that will most likely create the life and relationships I say I want to have.

You’re the one who’s in charge of creating your life. Your parents and social setting imprints you when you’re young and that’s the card you’re dealt but after that it’s on you to create the life you want. No one else. And if you’re forty five years old you’ve had as long to get things in order than you had under the tutelage of your childhood programming. Whatever age you are do the math and take inventory of the years that’ve gone by. How’s that sit with you?

Being happy is one of the things that should be on the top…maybe. You’re in charge of creating that. I work with brilliant, talented individuals. People who really kick ass in certain areas of their lives. And then other areas…not so much.

Think about your problems for a moment, the main ones on top; not enough time, don’t take care of your health, struggle with relationships, confidence, inadequacy, getting your needs met to name a few common ones.

Why haven’t you solved that problem?
What do you keep telling yourself is the reason you “can’t”?
What is so valuable with the problem that you keep it, nurture it and perpetuate it?

This begs another question…how do you solve problems? I think that we often make it much harder than we need to and we’re attached to that struggle. I know some of you will want to give me a big “fuck you”. I was told the same things years ago and that’s what I thought.

Last question, what are you going to do about it?
