I talk about risk all the time. I find it to be an interesting subject. We can’t completely avoid it and we can’t live in a constant state of risk.

So…having a healthy relationship with risk involves balance and paying attention. Like almost everything in life, we need to dance with risk.

Another factor with risk is perspective. If our relationship with risk is one that’s healthy we see it as an opportunity. And if we consider everything about risk as a being a threat then our dance with risk will be hard and we’ll suffer more than is necessary.

I’m here to break it to you, life itself is a risk.

When a study was done with individuals in their last era of life they were asked what they would do different if they had it to do over again. These were the most common answers;

1. Take more risks.
2. Be grateful.
3. Reflect more.
4. Do more things that will live on after you’re gone.

For the timid in our society, change is frightening. For the comfortable, change is threatening. But for the truly confident among us, change is opportunity. ~Nido Qubein

And here are some good questions to ask yourself when your assessing risky decisions;

What’s the worst that can happen?
What’s the best that can happen?
What’s most likely to happen?
