Although the use of spectrums creates a binary idea to things I use them a lot to help myself and others orient themselves about where they are and what they’re trying to get. If we can figure out where we are and then where we want to be or what we want to have we can identify a direction. Check out my thrust and vector blog from last year. It isn’t always easy to just move in the direction of what we’re after but for the sake of this conversation that’s the framework I’m using.
When any of us are looking to change we want to either have more of something or less of something. Or… we want both more of something and less of something at the same time. (Less fat, more muscle or less pain, more pleasure.) Many people come to me that want to feel less emotional or spiritual pain. I believe that our real work is about the fulfillment of our heart and soul. Some come to me wanting to reach higher potential. (More success, whatever that means or polishing something that they already are doing well.)
Whatever the desired outcome, healing or potential, it usually starts the same-introduce an energy or idea outside the current reality.
Here’s the secret… are you ready? To reach higher potential it almost always means there’s still something we need to heal. Sometimes we trick ourselves about still having things we need to heal so we avoid it and limit ourselves from achieving higher vibration states in doing so. Another little wrinkle here is that pain and the desire is heal is often way more motivating than the hard ass work is takes to gain fractional points of higher states at the top. Bummer that we have to end up here before we start making changes… and some still don’t change.
All of this is to say that if we’re using a scale or a spectrum we all need to decide what our baseline is and then figure out what causes us to go above where we are or below where we are or on a spectrum what makes us go back or forward, and if we’re operating simply in a survival state or kicking ass and thriving. And to make things more complicated this can be different in every facet of our lives.
